Lessons Learned

My weekly lesson learned last week was through the eyes of a child, my son. As usual right! I am on the Daniel fast with my Cambodia team. And it is amazing how clear your mind gets in this fast.

Anyway, we were out for a family run. And I was on my cool down. I was pushing Finn in the jogging stroller. He was just talking away to himself. Very cute, by the way!

All of the sudden he starts pointing and shouting "Birds, birds!" He loves birds and planes at this stage in his life. I looked down at him and his big excited eyes were lit up! And what a huge bright smile was on his face. Right then, I looked up to the sky and saw a whole flock of birds in formation. They were beautiful.

The cool thing is just as I saw them, I heard a voice in my head say "Look at those birds and remember Matthew 6:26-27 - stop worrying, my child!"

Here's the verse - " Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" Matthew 6:26-27

Isn't God awesome?! I had been worrying about a lot of things that will be happening over the next 2 months. Even though I might still worry, I know that I can give those worries to God. Ultimately, he will take care of me, you, or your problems - if you bring them to his mighty hands.

Perfect Rachael.
Your words always are. Thank you, I feel like I needed to hear this today. :)

That is one of my favourite verses : ) I love it. I try and say this over in my head when I am worrying about things. I was actually thinking of sticking it up on my wall. I think I might just do that, I'll tape it to the mirror! Thanks for reminding me! I'm glad it is helping you too.
