I've got some good friends...

That's me, Ashley, and Karin at Grouplink (all very good friends from work) I'm very thankful for each of their friendships. Ashley is who brought me to North Point and I replaced her role in the IT department. She is an amazing person and I have ALOT to learn from her (plus we have the same personality so it's definitely like having a twin sister). Karin and I shared a room at the Admin retreat last year and since then I consider her a sister as well. We are in a discipleship group together and i'm glad to have her as an accountability partner.

This morning in my quiet time with the Lord, He pointed out a verse to me. "A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother" Proverbs 18:24 This verse really spoke to me today. it was a reminder that you should have a few very close friends. The number of friends doesn't do anything for you. And I realized i'm all about closeness. I would much rather have 5 very close sisters then 15 friends. I'm also reading a book called "Everybody's Normal til you Get to Know Them" and it's teaching about the importance of community. I long for that kind of community. It's authentic, it's personal, it's honesty, it's what Jesus had with his disciples. Anyway, I'm starting to ramble now. But my point is I'm very thankful for the "friend[s] who stick closer than a brother" to me.

Much love-
R

PS-I have a praise, one of my 2008 goals was to make sure I went on a mission trip. Well, I applied and made it onto a team going to Cambodia in July this year. I'm so excited!!! Praise the Lord...I can't wait to do His work there!
