Where do I go?

" Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,  for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. Psalm 143:8

Most days I beg God to write out what I am to do. I want God to tell me where to go, how to act, what I should do each day. Basically - I'd really like to have an instructional manual. But I don't have one. I can pray and ask God to lead me. Then I can step back and trust Him to do so. I love this verse in Psalms. Because that is how we should start each new day.

1-Listen and wait for God's love that never leaves nor fails us.
2-Trust Him with the day.
3-Ask Him to show us where to go.

Life is all about small steps and trusting. Trusting a God who is ALWAYS in control.

Praying. Trusting. Listening. Resting in Him. Amen!

Part One: Abandonment

**Please note-today starts a 5 part series I will be writing on things I learned from Shattered Dreams. **

The first step to finding true joy in your Christian life is abandonment. The dictionary defines the word as "giving up control or influence to another person."

"The search to discover God requires that we abandon ourselves - that we give up control of what matters most, that we place our confidence in Someone we cannot manage." -Larry Crabb

The three items from that quote I found most important were : abandon, give up, and place our confidence. It's easier said than done.

Abandonment is no easy task. It requires that we give up control. If you've been reading this blog any amount of time you know I struggle with giving up control.

Dreams. We all have them. And it's not wrong to have them.  But how do you feel about abandoning all your dreams. It will be for a set of greater dreams. What dreams do you have? Could you give them up?

To me, the most important part is that abandonment has me place my confidence in God. I place my life in His mighty hands. And I am willing to place my dreams, thoughts, and confidence in His hands too.

What about you? Are you willing?

Forever, my hope is Christ

We sang a beautiful song called "Forever Changed" at church on Sunday. I've sang it before many times at church. I even have the North Point Awake CD that has the song on it. But today the words hit me much deeper. The words went into my soul and heart.

Forever, I am Yours my Savior
Forever, my hope is Christ

What a proclamation of faith! I belong to God, I'm in His family. And though the world is full of sin and hopelessness today I can proclaim that my hope is Christ. He came, he lived, he died, and he rose again. And I stay today amazed of His unending grace.

Grateful to the BIG God that I serve.

Forever, I am changed.
